Frontier style: Festive Fashion

Frontier style has now caught the same festive fever as Into the Wild, so here are some great ideas for comfort, warmth and festive cheer this Christmas.

No Christmas would be complete without the traditional knitted jumper and what could be more traditional than Jacquard print. This Long-Sleeved Hooded Zipped Jacquard Cardigan from La Redoute is available in a number of colours and provides the added edge of a hood and a zip. You’d also be grabbing yourself a Christmas bargain with the knit being reduced from £45 to £31.50.

When I think of mittens I think of skiing, Beatrix Potter and last but by no means least, Christmas. The website fashion-conscience.com is a great site for both stylish and ethical choices. These Fair Trade Heart Mittens could be a great stocking filler or could make a lovely addition to any winter outfit. Although they may seem a bit pricey at £15 at least you can be sure your money is going where it’s needed.

Whether you choose them for warmth, comfort or the extra stretchy waistband, lounge pants are a Christmas essential. They are also a great way of bridging the gap between pyjamas, which are unacceptable at the dinner table, and proper trousers which are just not an option on Christmas Day. Jack Wills is famous for its comfy pyjama alternatives. I normally find that they are just a bit overpriced, but now you can get the Halewick Loungepants or the Roseford Loungepants for almost half price, now at £29. Alternatively, you could go for a cheaper and more festive option in Joe Browns Women’s Xmas Check Lounge Pants for £16.95. Although lounge pants are perfect for Christmas Day, I wouldn’t necessarily pitch up to church in them.
